Something New

So this week on our lifestyle post it was time to try out something new. It is great to always look for new experiences as they make you grow, but it is also good to try something new in terms of eating, fitness and beauty regime. Come on, who doesn't love a bit of pampering me time?

I spotted a Sephora whilst at a shopping centre in Montijo, Portugal. Now, I am not a big make up girl- that's just not me- BUT I am a big treatment girl. Alright, I couldn't find a better word to suit what I love spending my time doing, I just love to find different treatments to better my skin, hair and nails. Having tried the Sephora face mask (inspired by Korean facial sheet masks) for the very first time with Alexa when she came over to Portugal, I was so pleased with it that I made a beeline towards the mask section. Browsing through the different types of masks, I stumbled upon two different products in this Sephora line and I bring to you my something new for this month *cue Ciara- Goodies*.

Reading the instructions this seemed like all the other nose strips I have used before, the only difference being the colour. What I really liked about this was actually that, the colour. I also liked the fact you wet the strip once it is placed on your nose so that it shapes to the contours of your nose. I do feel like there was little cover for the tip of the nose, but other than that it covered the black head prone area pretty well. When it came to taking off the nose strip, it did the job like other nose strips, although bits of the nose strip stayed stuck on to my face. Not fun when you have to pull it off. Overall I was pleased with this as something new to keep in my regime.

So my lips dry really easily, no matter how many times I put lip balms or Carmex on. I was hoping and praying that this something new would become a vital part of my new regime. Sadly it won't be. This mask works like the face mask sheet, it's a sheet soaked in the product which you place on the designated area, this one having a slit in the middle so you are able to still talk or whatever you want to do, however this experience is uncomfortable and moves the sheet around. The scent is nice, really really nice, but I was looking for something to make my lips softer and a bit more hydrated (I drink so much water that I really don't know why they get dry so easily). So when my lips felt the same I was disappointed. This one is not for me.

A very big fan here of Korean beauty products since I tried the Lotus Flower extract face mask with Alexa. Our reaction was pretty similar once we removed the mask and felt how incredibly soft our faces were. Softer than a baby's bottom were my exact words. So after such a great experience I was super confident that this would deliver after the lip mask. The results: definitely purified and detoxified my face, like this ingredient is supposed to do. Unfortunately because the Lotus Flower one was to moisturise it wasn't mega soft like that one, but it still left me with enviously soft skin. Win!! These sheet masks are now a staple of my beauty regime.
I think Sephora has done a great job in bringing new techniques to beauty treatments, and they now have a new fan. My next purchases will be their hand, foot and eye masks. When was the last time you tried something new?
