All In One Season

It's that time of year where the Christmas preparations begin. The gifts, the decorations, the food, the outfits, the list could go on. There is so much to think of and organise that things can get quite manic. If you haven't yet started to think about gifts or decorations, or you have but are looking for something different this year, then stay on this page and find out what I've picked for you this week.

As quite a creative person I really take to people starting up businesses that allow themselves, and encourage others, to step out of the box and create amazing pieces of work that represent them. Having had the pleasure to spend the weekend over at the Calcasola household I was taken around the showroom and workshop space of All In One Season. I even got to let my creative juices flow and work on a few things, this weekend was definitely a relaxing and productive one!

What is All In One Season? All In One Season was founded in 2002 by Alice Calcasola-vander List. Inspired by nature Alice became a Dutch Floral Designer making contemporary fresh and everlasting floral designs from her workshop and home in Letchworth, also importing original and on-trend Dutch homeware and lifestyle products. Since then All In One Season has flourished and expanded with a new showroom and now runs many design technique workshops. As well as taking floral commissions Alice runs floral demos and workshops on location all over UK and overseas, and was also voted Best Hertfordshire Florist this year.

The nautical styled decorations you see above are part of All In One Season's signature pieces. Using parts of wood, Alice meticulously spends hours filling gaps within and on top of the wood with small detailed materials tying in with the chosen theme.

Christmas Decorations

There are plenty of traditional christmas ornaments currently available at All In One Season. On the right you can see cute detailed decorations which can be placed on tables, window sills, shelves and more. By using pre-shaped pieces of wood, small tree branches are shaped and stuck on top to create small christmas trees, finished off with a silver paint to make each individual tree stand out and sparkle.

Outdoor Showroom split in to themes and colours

Recently added, there is a new section to the outdoor part of the showroom. Behind each door is a range of items placed out for visitors to see. These are arranged in colour, current season, next season to come, and themes such as outdoor and sea life. By creating these small windows Alice allows you to envision combinations suited to your house or to the taste of the person you are wishing to pick up a gift for. Giving such a personal touch makes the All In One Season experience so much more intimate than it would shopping in a store.

Workshop Space

All In One Season has workshops and courses available all year round catering to different levels of experience, different times of the year and even for personal events. The work space is welcoming and comfortable, so if you are nervous about doing this type of workshop for the first time there is no need, you will feel at home straight away. Especially with Alice offering coffee and traditional Dutch cakes to keep your inspiration flowing!

In the showroom you can purchase all the items made at All In One Season, and if you do not have time to come along to a workshop you can always buy pre-made packages with a variety of materials to have a go yourself at home. All In One Season is holding a Dutch Winter Open House this year on Monday the 28th of November, Wednesday the 30th of November and Friday the 2nd of December, so grab your tickets on eventbrite before it's too late!
